Job Overview

Siemens Industry, Inc., a global technology company, is offering a unique internship opportunity for active-duty US Military Service members. As a DoD SkillBridge Fire Inspector Intern, you will perform inspections, testing, and maintenance on fire sprinkler systems and other water-based systems following national and local standards. Responsibilities

As a DoD SkillBridge Field Specialist, you will:

  • Assist higher-level inspectors with testing of fire pumps, wet systems, dry systems, tamper switches, water-flow devices, and hydrants.
  • Assist with inspection, testing, and service of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge fire sprinkler systems; standpipes; backflow preventors; fire hydrants; and fire pumps per NFPA 25 standards.
  • Follow and maintain highly-structured inspection schedules.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites.
  • Complete service ticket documentation before leaving customer site.
  • Provide instructions to customer's personnel regarding proper operation and routine inspections; assist with training.
  • Work overtime when needed.
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete required training and certifications within the time requirements for this role.

Requirements

  • U.S. Military experience as an E4 or above (Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, National Guard, Reserves).
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Experience in the Fire Life Safety or Fire Protection Industry preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Must have good customer-facing and customer-service skills.
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
