Job Overview

JBT Diversified Food & Health is seeking an Operations Intern to join our team at our facility in Lakeland, Florida. As a member of the Operations and Supply Chain Team, you will have the opportunity to work on various tasks, including vendor management, database maintenance, and assisting the Director of Operations with special assignments.

Compensation

• Interns are eligible for paid sick leave per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist the purchasing team with vendor management and open order management
• Follow up with vendors via phone and email on open order statuses
• Update databases and spreadsheets used in purchasing and planning
• Communicate schedule and delivery date changes to aid production planning and scheduling functions
• Support the Director of Operations on special assignments

Requirements

• Residency Requirement: Candidates must be residing in the Lakeland, FL area for the entire duration of the internship.
• Educational background: Applicants must be seniors pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in finance, business administration, or a closely related field.
• Preferably completed the following courses: Business management, Accounting 101 and 102, & Supply Chain Management.
• Computer Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to navigate various computer systems.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers.
• Attention to Detail and Problem-Solving: Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Interpersonal Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills to meet the dynamic requirements of the department.
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Written and Verbal Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Availability: Flexibility to work a minimum of 15+ hours per week during regular business hours.
