Job Overview

OhioGuidestone is seeking interns pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work degree to join our team. As a leader in behavioral health services, we are dedicated to helping individuals reset their paths, regain their autonomy, and rediscover their purpose. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and support to launch a successful career in social work. Work with clients across the lifespan in Central Ohio's home or school settings, focusing on areas such as early childhood, juvenile justice, chemical dependency, and maternal depression. Attend workshops, learn from field experts, and engage in our weekly intern support and supervision group. Flexible scheduling is available, including evening and weekend hours if needed. Responsibilities

As a Bachelor Level Social Work Intern, you will:

  • Advocate for those we serve
  • Represent OhioGuidestone in a positive manner
  • Communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully
  • Be an active problem solver and support staff without judgment
  • Maintain a positive attitude and create a safe environment
  • Strive for improvement and encourage others to do the same
  • Assist with furthering the mission of OhioGuidestone
  • Conserve and protect our resources with integrity and accountability
  • Participate in special events or department projects as needed
  • Complete assigned duties as instructed by supervisor

Additional responsibilities for interns providing clinical services:

  • Develop therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Provide individual, group, or family therapy as needed
  • Maintain frequent contact with assigned professionals and support services
  • Actively participate in treatment conferences and meetings
  • Ensure timely completion of required paperwork

Requirements

  • Working towards a bachelor's degree in Social Work
  • Trainee status (CT, MFT-T, SWT) required for Graduate level Clinical Internships
  • Clear agency physical and background check
  • Valid driver's license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in English reading and writing
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Computer literacy including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic database usage
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility in working hours and availability for crisis management by phone
