Job Overview

ByteDance is seeking talented individuals for a frontend software engineer internship in 2024. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to develop efficient and reusable front-end systems for e-commerce products. You will collaborate with product design, product management, and software engineering teams to deliver a best-in-class user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop efficient and highly reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications for e-commerce products.
  • Optimize code to improve scalability, reliability, security, and performance of web applications.
  • Collaborate with product design, product management, and software engineering teams to deliver a best-in-class user experience.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
  • Familiarity and interest in frontend development, including:
    • Languages: JavaScript/Typescript/HTML/CSS
    • Frontend frameworks: React/Vue/Angular
    • Packaging frameworks: Webpack/Rollup/BaBel/AST/Gulp
  • Familiar with key concepts including functional and asynchronous programming, closures and types, layouts, specificity, animation, cross-browser compatibility, data security, and accessibility.
  • General understanding of multi-tier application architecture and protocols, familiarity with product and software development lifecycle process.
