Job Overview
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is offering a Summer Internship opportunity for students interested in joining our Engineering department based in Wichita, KS. As an intern, you will work with a team supporting aircraft structural design engineering activities, such as design, static analysis, and fatigue and damage tolerance analysis. Your duties may include developing design data sets, supporting modifications or repair activities, and performing analyses for metallic or composite aircraft components. Join us to work, connect and collaborate in Airbus' dedicated engineering facility outside of Europe.
Compensation
This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.
Responsibilities
- Perform various design engineering activities to support production of aircraft or in-service aircraft
- Detail part modeling, sizing, maturation, layout, trade study analysis, weight reduction efforts, certification activity, or in-service support
- Detailing data in support of trade studies for airframe structure
- Apply technical principles and follow detailed instructions
- Communicate effectively with supervision
Requirements
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace/Mechanical/Civil Engineering degree
- Curriculum exposure in airframe design, static analysis, mechanics of materials, and/or a CAD application is desired
- Currently pursuing a Minor in Computer Science, preferred
- Must be willing to relocate to Wichita, KS for the duration of the summer internship opportunity
- Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future need of visa sponsorship
