Job Overview
KiloNewton is a dynamic technical consulting and software development company specializing in engineering, renewable energy, manufacturing, and strategic business/technology decision management. We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced renewable energy engineer primarily focused on solar and wind projects. As part of our small and growing firm, you will wear many hats and contribute to various projects. If you are passionate about making the world a cleaner, better, and happier place, we want you on our team.
Compensation
Between $60k and $85k per year
Responsibilities
- Assess project requirements
- Assess feasibility and impact of site due diligence
- Prepare drawings and schematic designs based on project requirements
- Analyze energy requirements and create solar/wind analyses
- Study and assess drawings, plans, and specifications for construction projects
- Prepare bids and documentation for grant applications and tenders
- Collaborate with customers, construction teams, and outside project developers/engineers/consultants
- Manage deliverables within budget and on time
- Ensure standard engineering discipline in drawings, maps, and plans
- Other duties as defined
Requirements
- Expertise in designing and analyzing renewable energy projects
- Knowledge of FEA/CAD principles, practices, and methods
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor/CAD, FEA, and renewables analytic software
- Experience in solar analysis software such as PVsyst or Plant Predict
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Strong customer relationship and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Solar, or related technical discipline OR related experience
- 2+ years of experience in solar/renewable energy engineering
