Job Overview

The Social Media Assistant at American University's Antiracist Research and Policy Center (ARPC) is responsible for creating and posting content on the Center's social media accounts. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Compensation

  • Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Expected up to 10 hours a week during the regular semester.
  • Salary Range: $17.00/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating, scheduling, and posting social media posts and campaigns.
  • Maintain ARPC's social media presence by sharing, following, and responding to social media posts in consultation with the Communications intern and ARPC leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Communications intern to develop social media campaigns and convert promotional materials to social media formats.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • This position is restricted to students with a Federal Work Study award.
  • Required Education and Experience: None specified.
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
    • Proficiency with graphic design tools.
    • Self-motivation, initiative, resourcefulness, collaboration, dependability, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in creating and posting materials on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X, and experience with LinkTree desired.
