Job Overview

The Strategy and Corporate Development Summer Analyst is responsible for assisting in the analytical support of planning, modeling, and implementation of key strategic business objectives. Additionally, they provide support in developing strategic insights for discussions with the executive team while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication and execution.

Compensation

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the company's products, capabilities, operations, and financial performance
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of relevant industry sectors, including specialty finance, banking, and insurance
  • Research and analyze industries, companies, technology segments, and business models to develop a competitive landscape assessment
  • Conduct strategic fit and business opportunity analysis to determine profitability in various scenarios
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company-wide strategic initiatives
  • Build financial models relating to asset valuation, fixed income portfolio valuation, and regulatory capital and liquidity analysis
  • Prepare presentations for deal counterparties, senior executive teams, and Board of Directors
  • Act as a liaison between businesses, departments, vendors, consultants, and advisors
  • Collaborate with individuals from different disciplines and varying technical experience
  • Adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business and technical environment
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and SQL a plus

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (Spring 2025), with a superior record of academic achievement (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Mathematical Economics preferred)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Strong logic, reasoning, and math skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate financial statements, create financial models, and understand the principles of accounting
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding ethics, integrity, and judgment
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business and technical environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and SQL a plus
