Job Overview
The Business Manager at Case Western Reserve University assumes responsibility for the administration of most financial areas within the Office of Student Activities and Leadership and approximately 250 student organizations. This position works in collaboration with the Budget Director for the Division of Student Affairs. The Business Manager manages multiple financial transactions for the Undergraduate Student Government and provides financial training for all staff and student leaders. Reporting directly to the Director of Student Activities and Leadership, the Business Manager oversees all business transactions for the operating budget, special projects, and several agency accounts totaling approximately $1.5 million dollars. The Business Manager also supervises undergraduate interns and a graduate assistant.

Shift & Schedule: Weekends as needed, evenings as needed
Responsibilities
- Manage all business transactions for the operating budget, special projects, and several agency accounts totaling approximately $1.5 million dollars
- Provide accountability for the total budget and integrity of accounts
- Work collaboratively with the Division of Student Affairs financial team to manage the day-to-day financial transactions for approximately 250 student organizations
- Responsible for working with student organizations in all philanthropic events in regard to the financial transactions
- Serve as a financial resource for approximately 250 treasurers of student organizations
- Act as a liaison with area businesses in purchasing of goods and services
- Manage the dissemination and return of all university contracts, agreement for services, W-9 forms, and any other business paperwork required
- Develop, report, and manage the Student Activities and Leadership operating budget
- Implement and execute all policies for business and financial issues
- Analyze and prepare the financial forecast for the department of Student Activities and Leadership
- Serve as the purchasing agent for all supplies used by the Student Activities and Leadership office
- Manage The Sparta Center which distributes free programming supplies to all student organizations on campus
- Manage inventory through the ZOHO software system, procure all supplies, schedule student employees, and fulfill all orders placed by student organizations
- Supervise student interns working in the SPARTA Center and Student Activities and Leadership
- Coordinate innovative and creative development programs which seek to raise funds for the department, including management of the Balloons at Case and the Poster Printer programs
- Manage the Spartie Mascot Program, supervising students who serve as the mascot and scheduling all mascot activities
- Supervise the Graduate Assistant for Operations, assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Student Activities and Leadership office
- Responsible for the distribution process for multiple services of the Student Activities and Leadership
- Responsible for the ordering and maintenance of all office supplies and programming supplies for the Student Activities and Leadership
- Responsible for arranging all office orders within the University, such as audio-visual, catering, printing, etc.
- Responsible for assisting with the coordination of travel arrangements for the department staff and Undergraduate Student Government recognized student organizations
- Assist in the completion of tasks associated with all Student Activities and Leadership programs as needed
Requirements
- High School education and 5 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience in an office setting
- Accounting or business background is preferred
- Previous experience in a college or university setting is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills: ability to work and communicate with individuals from various departments within and outside of the university
- Strong customer-service value is expected

- Ability to meet consistent attendance and be highly motivated
- Good organizational skills: ability to multi-task, prioritize, and give attention to detail
- Ability to follow protocols, budget time effectively, and work on several projects simultaneously

- Intermediate knowledge and skills with Microsoft and G-Suite applications
