Job Overview
The Alcon R&D team is seeking talented and motivated interns for the Summer 2024 Internship program. This internship opportunity is available at our locations in Johns Creek, GA / Belmont, Goleta or Lake Forest, CA / Fort Worth, TX. As an intern at Alcon, you will gain industry experience, collaborate with professionals, and contribute to projects that impact patients and customers. Additionally, Alcon offers personal and professional development, high visibility, and coaching and mentoring opportunities.
Compensation
- Pay Range: $0.00 - $45.00 per hour
- Pay Frequency: Hourly
Responsibilities
As an intern at Alcon, you may be placed into the following teams:

R&D Analytical Chemistry - Fort Worth, TX:
- Conduct structure-property relationship studies of polymeric materials
- Perform advanced imaging technologies
- Conduct chemical/biological characterization
- Execute chromatographic separation and spectral interpretation
- Document experiments and prepare technical documents

Vision Care R&D - Johns Creek, GA:
- Support lens designers, contact lens metrology leads, Clinical Project leads, and Vision/Data Scientists
- Conduct lab work, data organization, and studies
- Modify formulations
- Assist in lens fabrication and characterization

Extraocular Devices (EOD) - Fort Worth, TX:
- Conduct literature research
- Design and conduct experiments to test ideas
- Prepare technical reports and present findings
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the internship or co-op
- Must be pursuing at least a Bachelor's level degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science/Engineering, Software, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Vision Science, Computational Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Information Security and Systems Engineering or a related major
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0
- Demonstrated leadership skills through extracurricular activities or projects
- Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT may be accommodated)
- Available for a 10-12 week, full-time (40 hours per week) summer internship
