Job Overview
The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for assuming assigned patient caseloads on inpatient medicine and surgery, Addiction Recovery Program, or emergency department. The social worker will provide bio-psychosocial assessments and interventions for patients and families impacted by a patient's acute medical needs and any psychosocial factors or barriers impacting their care. Additionally, the social worker will effectively intervene through evaluation, emotional supportive therapy, provision of resources and recommendations, and team collaboration around potential barriers to care in the community and around discharge needs. Ability to lead groups for inpatient addiction program is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assume assigned patient caseloads on inpatient medicine and surgery, Addiction Recovery Program, or emergency department
- Provide bio-psychosocial assessments and interventions for patients and families impacted by a patient's acute medical needs
- Address psychosocial factors or barriers impacting patient care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to understand the influence of psychosocial factors on patient's course of medical care
- Intervene through evaluation, emotional supportive therapy, provision of resources and recommendations
- Collaborate with the team to address potential barriers to care in the community and discharge needs
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from accredited program
- LCSW required, LICSW preferred
- Current professional licensure in Massachusetts
- Experience in healthcare setting or social work internship in a healthcare setting preferred
- Minimum of graduate-level internship experience in appropriate setting
