Job Overview
STCU is offering a Government Relations Internship opportunity in their Community Relations department. As an intern, you will gain a broad view of STCU's Government and Public Affairs work. Your responsibilities will include managing and analyzing policy issues, compiling and summarizing material on public policy, coordinating legislative visits, and supporting community projects. This internship is available from September 2023 to May 2024, with the possibility of extension.
Compensation
- Salary range: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
- Paid time off

Responsibilities
- Assist the Community Relations team in managing and analyzing policy issues
- Compile and summarize material on public policy related to credit unions
- Coordinate legislative visits and hike the hill trips
- Support the Community Relations team on community projects
Requirements
- Enrolled college student seeking credits through Spring 2024 (Masters students okay)
- Versatile team player and self-starter
- Organized and skilled at helping others get organized
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Currently pursuing a degree in Political Science, Government Relations, Public Administration, Economics, Law, Business Administration, or similar
- Interest in a future career in law, government, or government relations
- Knowledge and passion for government relations and advocacy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Forms)
- Hardworking with a positive attitude
