Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated intern to join our Technology Services operations team at Xcel Energy. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the utility industry through various financial tasks. As an intern, you will assist in preparing and reviewing financial reports, monitoring projects for compliance, and supporting the project management teams. Additionally, you may be involved in special projects. This long-term, paid position requires up to 24 hours per week during academic periods and up to 40 hours per week during non-academic periods, including summer and school breaks. Flexible hours are available based on your class schedule.

Compensation

• Starting base pay: $20.40 per hour

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial reports
• Monitor projects for compliance with governance practices

Requirements

• Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics
• Minimum GPA of 3.00
• Completion of accounting courses required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Interest in the Utility Industry preferred
• Ability to work part-time during the school year, if offered
• Experience coordinating activities within an organization is a plus
• Previous work experience and involvement in groups or organizations helpful
