Job Overview

Summary:

The Department of Psychology and Special Education at Texas A&M University-Commerce is seeking a Clinic Director and Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. The position involves directing day-to-day operations in the community psychology clinic, supervising students, teaching, and serving the university and community. The successful candidate will teach courses related to Clinical Psychology and demonstrate a commitment to training master-level Clinical Psychology students in evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide teaching excellence to graduate students in Clinical Psychology and other graduate programs
  • Supervise clinic services, including wait list management and client scheduling coordination
  • Be physically present at all times when the clinic is open
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision for master's level student clinicians in practicum/internship
  • Teach courses in the Department of Psychology and Special Education
  • Prepare syllabi, update course materials, and develop curriculum
  • Deliver instruction both online and on any of the university campuses
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, public schools, and community
  • Stay updated on evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy research, best practices in teaching graduate level classes, and technological applications in the classroom

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Ph.D. or PsyD in Clinical Psychology (or closely related field) and licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Texas or must obtain license prior to May 2024
  • Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, good written and oral communication skills, commitment to high quality teaching, dedication to high standards and student success
  • Ability to: Multi-task and work well as part of a team

Compensation

Proposed Minimum Salary: Commensurate
