Job Location

Job Overview
The Oakland Unified School District is seeking a Psychologist to join the Programs for Exceptional Children team. In this role, you will conduct assessments of the psycho-educational needs of referred students, provide consultative services to facilitate student learning and development, offer short-term counseling services, and assist school patrons in accessing services from outside agencies.
Compensation
- Salary range: $82,395-118,230 per year
Responsibilities
- Administer psycho-educational assessments and re-evaluations of referred students according to assessment plans
- Prepare written reports of assessment findings, including diagnoses and recommendations
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and facilitate teams as needed
- Provide consultative support to teachers, administrators, parents, and students for regular and special education programs
- Offer short-term counseling to referred students and families
- Recommend alternative approaches or techniques to help students achieve their goals
- Perform crisis counseling when necessary
- Drive a vehicle to conduct work
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Master's degree in educational or clinical psychology
- Minimum one year of internship under the supervision of a credentialed school psychologist
- Pupil Personnel Services Credential with School Psychology authorization
- Valid California Driver's License
- Employment eligibility, including fingerprint clearance and tuberculosis screening
