Job Overview
The Boring Company is seeking a Tunnel Safety Intern to join our team. As an intern, you will work with the Safety team to implement and enforce safety procedures on the construction site. Responsibilities
- Perform regular safety training sessions, including safety orientations and toolbox safety talks
- Conduct job site inspections to identify and document unsafe conditions and work practices
- Coordinate supplemental inspections for new processes, equipment, or hazards
- Assist in developing project safety pre-plans and job hazard analysis
- Verify the implementation of corrective measures for identified hazards
- Participate in post-accident analysis and present "lessons learned" to crew and management
- Oversee first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and personal protective equipment
- Enforce all safety rules and apply disciplinary procedures when necessary
- Create safety bulletins to increase awareness and communicate updates
- Submit weekly status reports on completed projects
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university or college
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Basic understanding of Engineering, Environmental, and/or Occupational Safety concepts
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to research, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to maneuver in tight spaces
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and travel as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in construction areas
