Job Overview

At Trident Maritime Systems, the Communications Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of a new ERP system. This includes writing engaging copy, creating appealing graphics, and executing the communications plan to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of the new system. This internship offers aspiring communications professionals the opportunity to gain real-world experience in the IT and digital space, build valuable skills, and expand their professional network.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the communication plan for the Oracle ERP implementation project
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project stakeholders to create and review communication materials
  • Write clear and concise copy that effectively communicates complex concepts in a simple and engaging manner
  • Create compelling and informative communication materials such as newsletters, email updates, FAQs, and presentations targeting various stakeholder groups
  • Design visually appealing graphics, illustrations, and infographics to accompany communication materials
  • Develop and maintain digital content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines
  • Assist in the creation of training materials and user manuals, applying effective communication techniques
  • Support the planning and execution of training events and workshops by developing communication materials and providing logistical assistance
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication efforts through analytics, feedback, and surveys
  • Assist in maintaining a repository of communication materials and ensure their accessibility to stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, digital communication tools, and best practices

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in a relevant field, preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in copywriting, storytelling, and crafting engaging content
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deliverables
  • A self-starter with a proactive and creative mindset, eager to contribute ideas and suggestions
