Job Overview

The Development Associate for Events and Special Projects at SEO Scholars is responsible for managing and supporting the planning and execution of special events, including the Annual Awards Dinner. As the primary operations lead, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the success of these events.

Compensation

$64,000 - $72,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage event trackers to ensure accurate data entry and tracking of Awards Dinner pledges, solicitations, and results
  • Review and prepare acknowledgment letters for donors and sponsors
  • Coordinate lists and manage other event details for the dinner journal
  • Prepare contribution statements, invoices, and transmittals for finance
  • Respond to sponsor inquiries and collect necessary documentation
  • Prepare regular revenue progress reports
  • Coordinate special appeals and projects
  • Contribute to overall annual Development team and operations goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2-3 years of experience in development, alumni-related work, and event planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse communities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office and donor databases
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
