Job Overview

Houlihan Lokey's Transaction Advisory Services group is seeking a Summer 2024 Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Financial Analyst, you will work closely with our team of former Big Four CPAs and accounting professionals to provide support on accounting and financial matters in the context of deals. This role will provide you with exposure to different transactional and technical issues in the M&A and capital markets industry.

Compensation

Salary Range: $70,000.00-$115,000.00 (Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location.)

Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in buy-side, sell-side, restructuring, and capital raising transaction advisory engagements
  • Drafting and reviewing analyses and findings for delivering unbiased advice
  • Researching technical guidance and market practices related to accounting and financial reporting issues
  • Reviewing transaction agreements, customer and supplier contracts
  • Supporting discussions with senior client executives and management
  • Supporting diligence projects through fieldwork, management meetings, and desktop reviews
  • Communicating potential external audit risks and considerations
  • Developing a professional network and relationships with firm, client, and target professionals
  • Collaborating closely with corporate finance, valuation, and financial restructuring colleagues

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Accounting majors - Masters or Bachelors of Accountancy (or dual accounting and finance majors) with a graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025
  • Coursework in accounting and finance, must be eligible for CPA licensure upon graduation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical abilities and financial and computer skills (Excel / PowerPoint in particular)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and be a team player
  • Basic knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
