Job Overview

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is offering an opportunity for rising seniors to join their Undergraduate Summer Analyst Program. As a summer analyst in the Markets Group, you will have the chance to work on advanced project assignments and gain valuable work experience at a unique institution. This program serves as the largest recruitment source for the New York Fed's full-time entry-level hiring.

Compensation

  • Salary: Your regular wages for the ten weeks will be paid on a semi-monthly basis and will be calculated based on an annual salary of $64,100.00, less applicable taxes.
  • Paid internship. Summer housing is not provided.

Responsibilities

As a summer analyst in the Markets Group, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with economic and financial data analysis.
  • Supporting the Group's funds, securities, trading, and settlement activities.
  • Preparing charts, tables, graphs, and other supporting documentation for research and market analysis conducted by the Group.

Requirements

  • Must be a rising senior graduating in Winter 2024 or Spring 2025.
  • Demonstrated interest in economics, public policy, and finance.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Quantitative analysis skills with experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and analytical tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).
  • Academic exposure and/or experience in international and domestic capital markets and instruments, and US monetary policy and economics.
  • Ability to source, prepare, and visually represent data using common tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
  • Ability to perform preliminary research and help prepare data regarding foreign and domestic market issues.
  • Programming experience (e.g., Python, R) is a plus, but not required.
