Job Overview

Bayer, a global leader in agribusiness, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Software Data Analytics Intern. In this role, you will work with the Digital Field Systems team, utilizing robotics, vision and sensing systems, and cloud-based services to automate in-field processes. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze big data to diagnose fleet health through visualizations and reports. You will also develop statistical algorithms, deep learning models, and other methods to enable real-time operations.

Responsibilities

As a Software Data Analytics Intern, your tasks will include:

  • Working as part of an agile development team to build and support applications
  • Managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in collaboration with the team and product manager
  • Interacting directly with business customers to gather and understand requirements and translate them into application features
  • Developing applications and services using the appropriate tools for the job
  • Conducting functional and non-functional testing
  • Troubleshooting and debugging applications
  • Deploying applications across all environments with the development team, product management, and delivery team
  • Focusing on code quality, including performing unit and integration testing
  • Evaluating existing applications to refactor, update, and add new features
  • Developing necessary technical documentation to accurately represent application design and code
  • Contributing to the vision for your team's products, considering impacts, dependencies, and opportunities for collaboration with other teams and groups
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve your knowledge and skills
  • Identifying opportunities to develop new and better solutions
  • Implementing solutions to technical obstacles affecting your team

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or an equivalent field
  • Experience in solving challenging technical problems in two or more of the following areas: Data Science, Engineering, and Analytics
  • Proficiency in processing and analyzing large data sets
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Model Development
  • Knowledge of Signal Processing
  • Experience with Single page web application development
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux environment management
  • Familiarity with cloud-based continuous delivery and environment management
  • Understanding of micro-service design and development
  • Experience with large, distributed system development
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and develop leadership competencies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
