Job Overview

  • Serve as a Branch Manager for one of the three open Division 84 Branches within the Naval Architecture & Engineering Department of Carderock Div NS
  • Supervise and manage up to 25 engineering and program management support staff
  • Interact with NAVSEA warrant holders across all engineering domains
  • Advertise for positions, interview candidates, and select personnel
  • Coordinate mentorship efforts within the branch
  • Create hiring and transition plans
  • Set performance expectations for employees
  • Be a mentor and advisor for branch members

Compensation

  • Equivalent to the GS-14/15 level

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage up to 25 engineering and program management support staff
  • Interact with NAVSEA warrant holders across all engineering domains
  • Advertise for positions, interview candidates, and select personnel
  • Coordinate mentorship efforts within the branch
  • Create hiring and transition plans
  • Set performance expectations for employees
  • Be a mentor and advisor for branch members
  • Responsible for personnel disciplinary actions as necessary

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance
  • Must meet the qualification requirements for the position
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience as a professional engineer managing engineering projects or providing naval architecture/engineering services
  • Must have a professional engineering degree or meet alternative education requirements
  • Must meet other qualifying criteria as specified
