Job Overview
Internship open to students seeking an opportunity to work while attending school with possible transition into a full-time position once their degree program is completed. Internship will require student to work on premise at Little Company of Mary in Evergreen Park, IL. Starting pay for this position is $19.21/hour.
Compensation
- Starting pay: $19.21/hour
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of an experienced Biomedical Equipment Services Technician, the intern will:
- Perform and document equipment incoming acceptance inspections
- Complete and document scheduled maintenance on medical equipment
- Troubleshoot, repair medical equipment and document activities
- Document all service and maintenance related activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Conduct rounds throughout the hospital
- Act in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the repair and maintenance of medical devices
- Represent the Department of Clinical Engineering & Biomedical Equipment Services in a compassionate, professional manner to all patients, guests, and OSF Healthcare Mission Partners
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in, and having completed the first year of an Associates Degree program for Biomedical Equipment Repair, Electronics, or other related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale OR
- Currently enrolled in, and completed the second year of a Bachelors Degree program for Biomedical Equipment Repair, Electronics, or other related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications
