Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) Consultant
Job Location
Washington, DC
Job Overview
The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) is seeking a consultant to provide training and support for the organization's diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. In this role, you will help develop and implement a DEIB plan, facilitate training sessions, and collaborate with the DEIB Committee. Your expertise will contribute to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment and promoting engagement with diverse communities.
Compensation
- $20,000 a year
Responsibilities
- Facilitate all-staff and leadership training sessions on DEIB values and principles
- Collaborate with the DEIB Committee to finalize draft purpose, objectives, and norms
- Conduct a thorough review of HR policies to address potential biases
- Integrate DEIB principles into the hiring procedure to ensure diversity and inclusivity
- Establish diversity goals and benchmarks for recruitment and retention
- Review and update organizational policies for inclusivity
- Provide ongoing training for a just organizational culture
- Act as an advisor to leadership and the DEIB Committee
Requirements
- Experience working with nonprofits, philanthropies, or start-up organizations
- Project outline and timeline for Phase 1 and approach for Phase 2
- Proposed fee for Phase 1 and anticipated budget needs for Phase 2
- Principal consultants' names and examples of previous clients
