Job Overview

Exalt is seeking a passionate and dedicated Director of Workforce Development and Career Advancement to join our team. As the primary liaison between our organization and corporate, government, and nonprofit partners, you will play a vital role in the growth and expansion of our programs. Your focus will be on creating and sustaining internships that provide meaningful career exploration opportunities for our youth. Compensation

  • Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
  • Full-time position

Responsibilities

As the Director of Workforce Development and Career Advancement, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the primary liaison between existing and potential internship partners
  • Creating and sustaining new internships for current students and alumni
  • Enhancing our orientation and onboarding process for new internship supervisors
  • Evaluating internships regularly and ensuring programmatic goals are met
  • Developing a new evaluation process to assess internship quality
  • Coordinating volunteer and internship opportunities with corporate sponsors
  • Collaborating with curriculum and pedagogy staff to align outcomes and placements
  • Evaluating and responding to student and internship provider needs
  • Identifying opportunities for increased partnership and support

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in partnership and/or network development, workforce development, youth development, youth justice, internship placement, or business
  • Understanding of the NYC business, political, nonprofit, criminal justice/human services landscapes
  • Commitment to exalt's mission
  • Essential competencies: interpersonal communication, adaptability, leadership, cultural sensitivity, technology proficiency
  • Ability to travel to placement sites within NYC
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
