Job Overview
Exalt is seeking a passionate and dedicated Director of Workforce Development and Career Advancement to join our team. As the primary liaison between our organization and corporate, government, and nonprofit partners, you will play a vital role in the growth and expansion of our programs. Your focus will be on creating and sustaining internships that provide meaningful career exploration opportunities for our youth. If you are committed to our mission and understand the importance of internships in preparing youth for success, we encourage you to apply.
Compensation
- Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 per year
- Full-time position
Responsibilities
As the Director of Workforce Development and Career Advancement, your key responsibilities will include:
- Serving as the primary liaison between existing and potential internship partners
- Creating and sustaining new internships for current students and alumni
- Enhancing our orientation and onboarding process for new internship supervisors
- Evaluating internships regularly and ensuring programmatic goals are met
- Developing a new evaluation process to assess internship quality
- Coordinating volunteer and internship opportunities with corporate sponsors
- Collaborating with curriculum and pedagogy staff to align outcomes and placements
- Evaluating and responding to student and internship provider needs
- Identifying opportunities for increased partnership and support
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in partnership and/or network development, workforce development, youth development, youth justice, internship placement, or business
- Understanding of the NYC business, political, nonprofit, criminal justice/human services landscapes
- Commitment to exalt's mission
- Essential competencies: interpersonal communication, adaptability, leadership, cultural sensitivity, technology proficiency
- Ability to travel to placement sites within NYC
- COVID-19 vaccination required
