Job Overview

Exalt is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Youth Educator/Group Facilitator to join our team. In this role, you will facilitate our core educational program for youth ages 15-19 who have been involved in the criminal justice system. You will play a vital role in inspiring and empowering youth to believe in their worth and create lasting behavioral change.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $58,500 - $62,000 per year
  • Full-time position

Responsibilities

As a Youth Educator/Group Facilitator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating three components of exalt's core educational program: Pre-Internship Preparation Class, Internship Phase, and Post-Internship Phase.
  • Engaging and teaching cohorts of approximately 20+ youth aged 15-19.
  • Assessing individual student learning styles, challenges, and strengths to tailor instruction.
  • Communicating regularly with Program Coordinators and exalt senior staff to share student progress and opportunities.
  • Collecting and entering data on student attendance, performance, and developmental progress.
  • Developing individualized goals for students and providing support towards achieving these goals.
  • Collaborating with Alumni team to assess and support ongoing progress and needs of alumni.
  • Reviewing and updating curriculum as necessary.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience in high school or an alternative educational program.
  • Strong cultural competence and familiarity with communities served by exalt.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a classroom of high school aged youth and create an engaging learning environment.
  • Adaptability and ability to work with students facing severe challenges.
