Job Overview

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern to provide support for new product development and factory activities. This is a full-time training position in Anaheim, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Translate product requirements into a mechanical specification and test plan
  • Execute verification testing as defined by the mechanical specification
  • Conduct design analysis and testing, both structural and thermal
  • Generate and process engineering change orders (ECOs)
  • Collaborate with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation
  • Support installation coordination for maritime structures and mechanical systems

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with CAD or analysis tools and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis
  • Working knowledge of transducer instrumentation, data collection, and automation
  • Ability to apply principles of structural mechanics and generate free body diagrams
  • Familiarity with programming languages and finite element methods
