Job Overview

  • This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Deputy Commandant for Mission Support (DCMS), CG-6, C5I Service Center (C5ISC), Information Assurance Branch in Kearneysville, West Virginia.
  • This job is open to the public, U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.
  • Current students enrolled in accredited educational institutions from high school to graduate level can apply, including internships, pathways, and other student programs.

Compensation

  • Salary: $34,135.00 to $49,812.00
  • Grade: 03 to 04
  • Perm/Temp: Permanent
  • FT/PT: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities designed to ensure protect and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities.
  • Monitor systems' compliance with IT security requirements.
  • Implement IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems.
  • Protect evidence used in investigating computer crimes.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Unofficial transcripts are required at the time of application.
  • Be a currently enrolled freshman, sophomore, or junior at an institution of higher learning, with a particular focus on Minority Serving Institutions - specifically, Historically Black College or University.
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale and remain in good academic standing throughout the duration of the fellowship program.
  • Have a declared major in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), Information Technology (IT), cybersecurity, or intelligence-related field.
  • Be a sophomore, junior, or senior by the start of the appointment and maintain enrollment on a full-time basis.
