Job Overview

The US Foods Summer Internship Program offers college students the opportunity to apply their classroom skills in a real-world business environment. Interns will be assigned impactful projects, receive guidance from managers and mentors, and have exposure to executive leadership. This is a full-time paid position with a possibility of transitioning to a full-time role post-graduation. Please note that sponsorship for employment visa status is not available.

Compensation

  • Compensation depends on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
  • In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $28.00/hour - $35.00/hour USD.
  • In New York, the expected compensation for this role is between $28.00/hour - $35.00/hour USD.
  • In California, the expected compensation for this role is between $28.00/hour - $35.00/hour USD.
  • In Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between $28.00/hour - $35.00/hour USD.
  • This role is not eligible for commissions and incentive compensation.
  • Benefits are not available for intern roles, but full-time roles include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and participate in project ideation - from concept to delivery.
  • Gather information from existing systems and analyze program and time requirements.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for program development.
  • Develop moderately complex programs that meet standards and technical specifications.
  • Develop test plans to verify program logic.
  • Create documentation of work assignments and technical documentation.
  • Assist in resolving program issues.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems/Science, or a related area of study.
  • Must be enrolled in school during the internship.
  • Coursework or skill in object-oriented programming and Java development.
  • Experience or coursework in database server development and web application development.
  • Experience or coursework in integrating front-end templates with back-end functionality.
  • Experience with front-end web development languages.
