Job Overview

Join Wipfli LLP as an Accounting Intern for the Spring 2025 term. As part of our inclusive culture, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tax and/or audit work while working alongside professionals from all levels of the firm. This internship will provide you with the skills and knowledge to become a trusted business advisor and make a difference in the accounting field.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize educational knowledge and experience to perform accounting related responsibilities
  • Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Use data analysis skills to provide support in making recommendations
  • Identify improvement opportunities to enhance process efficiency

NOTE: Interns will receive experience in both tax AND audit if possible

Tax Specific:

  • Prepare tax returns and projections in accordance with firm and professional standards
  • Use current tax and accounting software applications effectively
  • Conduct tax-related research

Audit Specific:

  • Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures
  • Communicate with engagement leaders regarding important matters
  • Prepare financial statements and footnotes, management reports, and other engagement outputs
  • Develop technical competency with GAAP

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (completion of a taxation class required)
  • Above average competency in accounting as demonstrated by college GPA (preferred GPA 3.0 or higher)
  • Working towards eligibility to sit for CPA exam upon graduation (150 credits)
  • Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to think independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong prioritization and deadline management abilities
