Job Overview

At the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), we are dedicated to creating an exceptional experience for every guest on our campus. As a Set-Up Attendant Intern, you will work with the Facility Manager - Operations to ensure the highest level of safety and customer satisfaction for events held at GWCCA. This part-time position requires you to perform a range of duties, including set-up and removal of event items, maintenance of inventory, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general set-up and removal of items for public and private events, such as tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Tear down event-related items, including props, linens, and decor.
  • Adhere to proper dock/loading and security procedures.
  • Operate company carts, vans, and lifts according to safety procedures.
  • Pack and handle inventory to protect against damage.
  • Stock and relocate assets in the warehouse.
  • Tag assets and assist in repairs as needed.
  • Pick up and deliver items to and from vendors.
  • Maintain tools and report any lost or damaged tools.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately.
  • Keep storage rooms clean and organized.
  • Report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards.
  • Observe safe work methods and use safety equipment.
  • Participate in GWCCA training programs.
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong English language skills.
  • Proficiency in hand and power tools used in event set-up work.
  • Basic record-keeping abilities.
  • Knowledge of safe work methods and driving rules.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong integrity, compliance, and self-awareness.
  • Effective communication, prioritization, and workload management abilities.
  • Flexibility to work irregular schedules, including weekends and holidays.
