Job Overview
The NCH High School Career Academy is a six-month program that introduces students to various health care professional tracks through shadowing experiences, with the opportunity to obtain industry-recognized credentials.
Compensation
- $12 per hour
Responsibilities
- Attend two sessions per month (4:30pm - 8:00pm)
- Participate in medical terminology, HIPAA, and CPR training
- Complete components of the Ohio Means Job readiness seal
- Learn how certifications lead to career pathways at Nationwide Children's
- Meet with clinical and non-clinical staff from various in-demand departments
- Gain hands-on experience in a leadership development environment for a successful health care career
- Learn about employer tuition assistance for education and career advancement
Requirements
- EDUCATION: High school student
- SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
- Sound written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work within teams and handle multiple tasks
- Logical/critical thinking skills
- Positive presence and ability to interact with staff, vendors, consultants, and physicians
- EXPERIENCE: Previous work experience preferred but not required. Regular attendance is essential.
