Job Overview

MAPFRE Insurance is offering a unique opportunity for highly motivated college students to intern in our actuarial department. This internship is perfect for individuals who thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment and are ready to learn about the insurance industry. As an intern at MAPFRE Insurance, you will work on real business projects that have a direct impact on our company. You will also have the chance to network with other employees and interns, as well as participate in a community service project.

Responsibilities

  • Support pricing analyses for property and casualty insurance products.
  • Update and maintain actuarial analyses in accordance with CAS principles.
  • Collaborate with peers to perform ad-hoc actuarial analyses.
  • Retrieve and manipulate data.
  • Pursue exams on the CAS syllabus.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college degree program.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation.
  • College-level preferred:
    • Undergraduate (Rising Junior/Senior)
    • Graduate Student (Final Year)
  • Preferred majors and/or coursework:
    • Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Strong database skills
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills
    • Math aptitude
    • Analytical and problem-solving ability
    • One+ Actuarial exams passed and actively pursuing CAS/SOA credentials
    • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and critical thinking
