Job Overview

As a Career Foundation Program (CFP) Associate, you will be sponsored and supported by our Organization's Senior Leaders, along with an assigned mentor and program manager. This 18 - 24-month training program is designed to develop you into future leaders of our company. The program offers a performance-based culture focused on Responsibility, Operational Excellence, and Innovation (ROI). During your 18 - 24 months, you will learn from Smithfield Foods leaders, industry experts, and gain hands-on experience in various functional areas of the company. You will engage in challenging and dynamic experiences throughout different Smithfield Foods business areas, locations, and functional groups, specifically in the Industrial Engineering Track.

Compensation

Salary Range: $46,500 - $68,000

Responsibilities

  • Provide business support and thought-leadership to the company
  • Add immediate value as a full-time employee from day one, doing real work and delivering real results
  • Contribute to the achievement of department goals through problem-solving, leading projects, and executing short-term and long-term responsibilities
  • Gain a deep understanding of human resources functions through hands-on experience in recruiting, onboarding, orientation, training, and more
  • Work with and manage teams on the production line, shadow industry leaders, and perform complex duties requiring independent judgment
  • Assist in maintaining and administering HR systems and databases
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maximize positive employee relations and minimize potential liabilities
  • Assist in discipline and attendance tracking

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university; or currently enrolled college student with an anticipated graduation by the end of the current semester
  • Willingness to relocate one to two times during rotation
  • Possess a high level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to self-manage time from remote locations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Willingness to travel up to 15-25% of the time, with periodic overnight travel required
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and a positive work environment
