Digital Design Intern Summer 2024

Job Overview
- Paid full-time 12-week internship from June to August 2024
- Join a digital media company reinventing news coverage and reader engagement
- Collaborate with reporters, editors, and creative directors to showcase graphic artists' talents and elevate content
- Receive training and mentoring from editors and colleagues across departments
- Work and train within a cohort of more than a dozen summer interns
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $18.07 (rate as of 7/1/2024 is dependent upon the new SF Minimum wage)
Responsibilities
- Help tell newsroom stories through innovative digital-first presentations
- Collaborate with various teams to create engaging visual content
- Contribute to the design and coding of projects
- Brainstorm, research, art direct collaborators, and coordinate projects
Requirements
- Working towards a degree in journalism and/or design
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, GitHub, JavaScript, Figma, Ai2html, Adobe Creative Suite, React
- Experience with Archie (a plus)
- Data visualization skills (a plus)
- Illustration and animation skills (a plus)
- Print design experience (a plus)
