Job Overview

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Water Resources team in our Austin, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will help with drainage and stormwater analysis and design. The Intern will help perform water resources design, support projects in water resources planning, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and other engineering tasks as needed.

Compensation

Interns are paid hourly and would work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday thru Friday for the summer of 2024. Halff does not assist with or provide housing for Internships.

Responsibilities

  • Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
  • Help design drainage and stormwater analysis and design
  • Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects
  • Perform drafting CAD work
  • Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
  • Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Great communication skills
  • Solid relationship and team building skills
  • Self-motivated and strong organization skills
