Job Overview
- Opportunity for a 3-month internship in Geology/Geoscience at Rio Tinto Boron, California Operations.
- Gain hands-on experience and work with the Boron Geology team.
- Exposure to geologic mapping, core logging, sampling and data analysis, ore control, and geologic modeling.
- Part of a dynamic team and operation within a large mining operation.
Compensation
- A competitive salary
- A relocation lump-sum offered for eligible students
- Reimbursement for one-time travel to and from the work site for eligible students
Responsibilities
- Assist with geologic mapping, core logging, sampling and data analysis, ore control, and geologic modeling.
- Contribute to the dynamic team and operation of a large mining operation.
Requirements
- At least one year completed in a Geology/Geoscience program or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills and eagerness to learn.
- Flexibility and autonomy.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Valid driving license.
- Eligible to return to school the semester following the internship period and have the right to work full-time in the United States.
