Job Overview

  • Opportunity for a 3-month internship in Geology/Geoscience at Rio Tinto Boron, California Operations.
  • Gain hands-on experience and work with the Boron Geology team.
  • Exposure to geologic mapping, core logging, sampling and data analysis, ore control, and geologic modeling.
  • Part of a dynamic team and operation within a large mining operation.

Compensation

  • A competitive salary
  • A relocation lump-sum offered for eligible students
  • Reimbursement for one-time travel to and from the work site for eligible students

Responsibilities

  • Assist with geologic mapping, core logging, sampling and data analysis, ore control, and geologic modeling.
  • Contribute to the dynamic team and operation of a large mining operation.

Requirements

  • At least one year completed in a Geology/Geoscience program or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills and eagerness to learn.
  • Flexibility and autonomy.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Eligible to return to school the semester following the internship period and have the right to work full-time in the United States.
