Job Overview

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to provide therapeutic behavioral and mental health services to students and families. In this role, you will conduct individual and group counseling, administer screeners, provide crisis intervention and response, and link to community resources. Your expertise will support the behavioral health goals of the student, school, and district. This is a classified management position, and employment is subject to grant funding availability.

Responsibilities

As a Behavioral Health Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing therapeutic behavioral and mental health services to students and families
  • Conducting individual and group counseling for students
  • Administering screeners to evaluate mental health needs
  • Managing crisis intervention and response
  • Linking students and families to community resources
  • Providing consultation to school staff to support behavioral health goals

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Two (2) years of successful experience working with adolescents in a private setting, school setting, county, or other community-based organization providing direct behavioral and/or mental health services
  • A Master's degree in psychology, mental health, counseling, social work, or a related field
  • Valid California State Board of Behavioral Science Examiner License as either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist
  • Completion of or ability to complete, within sixty (60) days of hire, the appropriate clinical supervision course of supervising an AMFT, ACSW, APCC, MFTT, PCCT, or MSW Intern as specified by the Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License and use of personal automobile
  • Acceptable driving record and maintain insurability at standard rates by the district's insurance carrier
