Job Overview

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Software/Database Developer Intern to join our team! Parsons is now accepting applications for a Software/Database Development Intern who has a great attention to detail and is ready to join a rapidly growing team, enhancing the fabric of our community. We need our interns to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills. In this role, you will perform a variety of application development assignments requiring a fundamental knowledge of software development concepts, practices, and techniques. The intern at this level typically collaborates with experienced developers to complete basic development tasks, debugs and tests code, queries databases, documents software applications, and assists in resolving technical issues. Assignments are designed to develop a practical knowledge of relevant technologies, processes, and systems in the Software Development field.

Compensation

Salary Range: $20.63 - $36.11

Responsibilities

  • Familiarization with Agile/Scrum development methodology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing robust multi-language computer applications.
  • Experience with RESTful API services.
  • Extensive experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and NoSQL DBs.
  • Practical experience with scripting technology such as Python, Pearl, Ruby, or Legacy equivalents.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a Software Development, Engineering, or Computer Science curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed typically 1+ year of studies in the relevant discipline.
  • Experience with open source products.
  • Experience designing, creating, and maintaining RESTful web services.
  • Ability to work across programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, R).
  • Familiarity with database design SQL and NoSQL.
  • Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/None.
  • This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.
