Job Overview

Union Pacific Law Clerks will have the opportunity to intern with the in-house legal team at Union Pacific Railroad. As part of a comprehensive program, law students will collaborate with the legal team in various areas such as transportation, intellectual property, commercial contracts, supply chain, regulatory matters, litigation, employment law, and other legal matters. Participants will receive managing and mentoring from in-house lawyers to gain a better understanding of the unique role of an in-house law department at one of America's leading transportation companies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in-house lawyers with research projects
  • Write legal memoranda, briefs, and draft documents related to transactional law
  • Support attorneys on contractual drafting, review, and interpretation
  • Aid attorneys in hearing or trial preparation
  • Review work product and discovery documents for legal strategies
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in accredited law school
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Completion of Legal Writing and Research
