Job Overview

  • Jacobs, a company dedicated to improving lives and creating smart environments, is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern (Highways) based in Fort Worth.
  • As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on critical projects and gain valuable experience in the field of transportation engineering.
  • You will collaborate with professional engineers and designers, provide support on highway design projects, and contribute fresh ideas to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the roadway, structures, and traffic engineering group on highway design projects for clients such as state, county, and municipal transportation agencies.
  • Perform field investigations and evaluate existing roadway conditions.
  • Manage and achieve scheduled milestones, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Must be at least a rising Junior.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to perform field investigations and evaluate existing roadway conditions.
  • Ability to manage and achieve scheduled milestones, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks.
  • Preferred: GPA of 3.0 or higher, interest in Transportation, working knowledge of Bentley MicroStation and Geopak or OpenRoads, previous internship related to field of study, ability to communicate with all levels of management within Jacobs, ability to collaborate with other Transportation disciplines, self-driven time management, and organizational skills.
