Job Overview

KPMG is currently seeking an Intern for Enterprise Data Services. In this role, you will perform various tasks related to the governance, management, and maintenance of data. Your responsibilities will include standards development, metadata management, data reporting, documentation of data interfaces and mappings, data analysis and interpretation, and development of business and technical requirement documents. You will also support the Data Strategy & Operations leadership team, identify and implement process improvement opportunities, and assist project managers in creating and executing project plans. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks related to the governance, management, and maintenance of data, including but not limited to:
    • Standards development
    • Metadata management
    • Reporting
  • Document data interfaces and data mappings; analyze and interpret data
  • Develop business and technical requirement documents
  • Support the Data Strategy & Operations leadership team in the overall operations of the data organization
  • Identify and implement cross-functional process improvement opportunities
  • Assist project managers in creating effective project plans and managing project tasks
  • Secure acceptance and approval of deliverables from project stakeholders

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in one of the following:
    • Computer Science
    • Data Analytics
    • Data Processing
    • Information & Data Science
    • Information Management
    • Library Science
    • Management Information Systems or equivalent program
  • Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Experience working with data including data sourcing, data analysis, and data integration
  • Experience in statistical analysis, working in an IT environment supporting projects, and strong experience using Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving, organizational, and independent judgment skills
  • Ability to build productive relationships with peers
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information
  • Work location may vary depending on business need (office, client sites, or virtual/remote)
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
