Job Overview

We are seeking a highly-motivated intern to join our Civil/Site Engineering Discipline for Summer 2024 in our Pittsburgh, PA office. Colliers Engineering & Design, an affiliate of Colliers, is a trusted provider of multi-discipline engineering, design and consulting services to public and private sector clients. Headquartered in Holmdel, New Jersey with 70 offices throughout the United States, we specialize in providing a comprehensive suite of services including civil/site, transportation, geospatial/survey, infrastructure, governmental, geotechnical/environmental, telecommunications and utilities engineering as well as architectural and planning services. We employ over 2,000 talented professionals who utilize the most advanced technologies to deliver customized solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects
  • Read and review project drawings and plans
  • Confer with engineers about preparing plans
  • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software under the charge of Engineers
  • Evaluate pre-construction field conditions
  • Observe project sites and evaluate contractors' work to detect problems with a design
  • Prepare reports and document project activities and data
  • Prepare analyses from collected data
  • Set up and help maintain project files and records
  • Participate in internship programming and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography or a related program
  • Must have reliable transportation to the office
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to work in a high-paced environment
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Office
