Job Overview

Kentucky State University is seeking a High School Research Intern to support established research projects within the College of Agriculture, Community, and Sciences. Under the direct supervision of a KSU Faculty Member, the intern will contribute to ongoing research projects in the field of Apiculture.

Compensation

  • Employment Status: Part-Time
  • Employment Classification: Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

  • Conduct examination of honey bee tissues and pathogens using a microscope
  • Evaluate tissues using a spectrometer
  • Perform other routine laboratory tests as needed
  • May participate in beekeeping activities (not essential)

Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 out of 4.0 scale
  • Ability to dedicate a minimum of two hours
  • Must have own transportation to the location
  • Preferred interest in agriculture, environmental science, horticulture, or agribusiness
  • No licensing or certifications required
