High School Research Intern in Apiculture

Job Overview
Kentucky State University is seeking a High School Research Intern to support established research projects within the College of Agriculture, Community, and Sciences. Under the direct supervision of a KSU Faculty Member, the intern will contribute to ongoing research projects in the field of Apiculture.
Compensation
- Employment Status: Part-Time
- Employment Classification: Non-Exempt
Responsibilities
- Conduct examination of honey bee tissues and pathogens using a microscope
- Evaluate tissues using a spectrometer
- Perform other routine laboratory tests as needed
- May participate in beekeeping activities (not essential)
Requirements
- Minimum GPA of 2.75 out of 4.0 scale
- Ability to dedicate a minimum of two hours
- Must have own transportation to the location
- Preferred interest in agriculture, environmental science, horticulture, or agribusiness
- No licensing or certifications required
