Job Overview
Join Valero, a global leader in refining and alternative fuels, as an intern in their 40-year legacy of excellence. This internship program is designed for highly motivated Chemical Engineering majors who are eager to work on challenging projects in various areas.
Compensation
The rate for this position is $34 to $40 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Process Engineering: Collaborate with field operators, console operators, and unit managers to optimize operations within the refinery.
- Environmental Engineering: Assist with compliance reports and emission tracking, perform daily emissions calculations, and stay up to date with regulatory updates.
- Control Systems Engineering: Support refineries through control and instrument activities, troubleshoot when necessary, and ensure hardware and software platforms are functioning properly.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Chemical Engineering.
- Overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred.
- At least 60 credit hours completed by the start of the summer internship.
- Graduation dates between August 2024 and May 2026.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week in person.
