Compensation
The rate for this position is $34 to $40 per hour and represents Valero's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of expected compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Process Engineering: Works with field operators, console operators, and unit managers to provide optimization, troubleshooting advice, and generalized technical guidance on operating units within the refinery.
- Environmental Engineering: Assists with compliance reports and emission tracking. Performs and reports daily emissions calculations. Reviews and incorporates regulatory updates.
- Control Systems Engineering: Supports refineries through control and instrument activities. Supports hardware and software platforms. Troubleshoots when necessary.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Chemical Engineering required.
- Overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred.
- Obtained at least 60 credit hours by the start of summer internship required.
- Graduation dates of August 2024 through May 2026 required.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week in person required.
