Inpatient Nutritionist-Clinical Nutrition

Job Location

Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, NY 10029

Job Overview

Provides quality nutrition care and education to patients and family members under the direction of Clinical Nutrition leadership
Assesses patients' nutritional status and recommends appropriate nutrition therapy based on their needs
Conducts nutrition-focused physical exams and documents findings in the medical record
Provides nutrition counseling to patients, family members, and caregivers

Compensation

Salary range: $59,895 - $89,843 annually

Responsibilities

Evaluates patients' nutritional status and determines their nutritional needs
Documents pertinent findings in the medical record
Maintains individual daily productivity and other required documentation
Provides quality nutrition counseling to patients, family members, and caregivers
Evaluates nutrition care plans and recommends changes as needed
Evaluates the need for enteral and parenteral nutrition support
Works collaboratively with the Food Service Department to ensure compliance to therapeutic diets
Participates in department activities and programs
Precepts dietetic interns and provides feedback for their evaluations

Requirements

Registered dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or registration-eligible
Completion of ACEND-accredited dietetic internship
Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) from the NYS Department of Education Office of the Professions encouraged
Must pass RD exam within 3 months of hire if registration-eligible
