Job Overview

  • Provides quality nutrition care and education to patients and family members under the direction of Clinical Nutrition leadership
  • Assesses patients' nutritional status and recommends appropriate nutrition therapy based on their needs
  • Conducts nutrition-focused physical exams and documents findings in the medical record
  • Provides nutrition counseling to patients, family members, and caregivers

Compensation

  • Salary range: $59,895 - $89,843 annually

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patients' nutritional status and determines their nutritional needs
  • Documents pertinent findings in the medical record
  • Maintains individual daily productivity and other required documentation
  • Provides quality nutrition counseling to patients, family members, and caregivers
  • Evaluates nutrition care plans and recommends changes as needed
  • Evaluates the need for enteral and parenteral nutrition support
  • Works collaboratively with the Food Service Department to ensure compliance to therapeutic diets
  • Participates in department activities and programs
  • Precepts dietetic interns and provides feedback for their evaluations

Requirements

  • Registered dietitian (RD) from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or registration-eligible
  • Completion of ACEND-accredited dietetic internship
  • Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) from the NYS Department of Education Office of the Professions encouraged
  • Must pass RD exam within 3 months of hire if registration-eligible
