Job Overview

  • CAE is seeking a highly motivated Government Relations Strategy Intern to join our dynamic and fast-paced team.
  • The intern will support strategy and business development, market analysis, and strategic engagements.
  • This is a part-time paid internship opportunity.

Compensation

  • Paid position, commensurate with experience and school year
  • Hybrid in-person and telework opportunity
  • Part-time with flexibility (15-29 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Support senior government relations representatives and gain knowledge of regulatory policy issues facing CAE, focusing on training, modeling, and simulation.
  • Produce Read Ahead Memos and bios for high-level U.S. government meetings and engagements.
  • Research Congressional actions, legislation, government budgets, and provide read outs to team members.
  • Track government relations engagement data in Salesforce analytics platform.
  • Staff and support internal and external WashOps hosted events as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support to the WashOps team.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an interest in defense, civil aviation, and/or healthcare strategy.
  • Interest/experience in defense, national security, international relations, or security studies.
  • Basic knowledge of Congress and Federal agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, writing, administrative skills, and attention to detail.
  • Based in the Washington, DC area.
