Job Overview

HDR Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Traffic EIT/Designer in our Tampa, FL office to work as part of a traffic team under the direction of a Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic engineering and planning projects. This position will support our fast-growing Transportation Planning Section.

Compensation

  • Position range: $76k - $124k per year

Responsibilities

  • Perform transportation planning and related tasks in support of traffic simulation and capacity analyses, development or assistance in the development of traffic forecasts from regional travel demand models.
  • Evaluate multimodal transportation systems and provide detailed and summary results in graphics.
  • Conduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from highway capacity software to complex microsimulation models; analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments.
  • Write reports to clearly communicate analysis results and recommendations and present findings to the team.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Engineering Intern (Passed Fundamentals Exam) or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire. Until then, the title will be Traffic Designer.
  • Must have a strong interest in the planning and design of complete streets, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and traffic operations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for public and client presentations and document preparation.
  • Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once.
