Job Overview
Sargent & Lundy is a globally recognized full-service architect-engineering firm specializing in power and energy. As a Chemical Engineer Intern, you will be part of a project team focused on evaluating and improving air and water quality control systems and carbon capture systems for energy and industrial applications. This is a part-time temporary position.
Compensation
We do not provide relocation assistance for this position.
Responsibilities
- Assist the engineering team in executing project work related to air and water quality control systems and carbon capture systems.
- Gain hands-on experience in maintaining and enhancing knowledge of industry standards, control system design, and new technology developments.
- Contribute to project reporting, including tracking project activities and progress.
- Work under the direction of senior engineers to support project tasks.
Requirements
- Must have an expected graduation date in Winter 2024 or Spring 2025 with a BS in Chemical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
- Solid understanding of basic chemical engineering processes, including mass balances.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proactive and able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in PC skills.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with ASPEN or similar process modeling software and Microsoft applications is a plus.
